Recent studies from the literature show that the initiation of fluoxetine (prozac) helps promote motor recovery after acute stroke?  This study, which was in the February 2011 Journal Lancet Neurology, revealed that motor recovery was significantly improved after 3 months if fluoxetine was started soon after the stroke occurred.  It was felt that this promoted neuroplasticity in brain injury!
